The Nici Hotel Newquay

Project Overview

Woodstock Wardrobes was appointed to design, manufacture, and install the full wardrobe and storage package for The Nici Newquay, one of Cornwall’s most anticipated luxury hotel openings. This prestige project cover 80 separate rooms and demanded exceptional craftsmanship, flawless delivery, and a product that matched the hotel’s bold, Miami‑inspired aesthetic.

The Challenge

The Nici brand is known for its distinctive interiors — confident, colourful, and design‑led. For Newquay, the brief required:

  • A wardrobe design that blended into rooms interior design seamlessly

  • Incorporated LED lighting. fridges and snack shelves

  • Materials capable of standing up to heavy hotel use

  • Precise installation within tight construction timelines adn minimal shadow gaps

  • A consistent finish across all rooms and suites

  • Incorporate hardware selections that coordinated with other room features ssuch as light swtiches

The challenge was delivering a product that looked bespoke while maintaining the efficiency and repeatability required for a large‑scale hospitality project.

Delivering the full wardrobe package for The Nici Newquay came with several significant operational and technical challenges.

Tight Programme

Woodstock was provided with a strict 10‑week timeline to design, manufacture, deliver, and install the complete wardrobe system. To ensure the product aligned with the hotel’s aesthetic, we worked closely with The Nici design team prior to commencement, finalising finishes, detailing, and functional requirements before production began.

Cornwall Logistics

With manufacturing based in Oxfordshire, delivering a large‑scale joinery package to Cornwall required careful logistical planning. Transport scheduling, site access, and coordination with the main contractor were all critical to maintaining programme.

On‑Site Coordination

Each wardrobe required detailed coordination with the site team to ensure readiness. This included close collaboration with the electrical contractors to confirm lighting feeds were in place and fuse boards installed before units arrived. Sequencing was essential — any delay in services would directly impact installation.

Integrated Fridge Ventilation

The requirement for fridges to be housed inside the wardrobes introduced an additional technical challenge. To prevent overheating and ensure long‑term performance, we engineered a ventilation solution that created sufficient airflow behind each unit. This was achieved through internal ventilation at both the top and bottom of the wardrobe, allowing heat to dissipate effectively without compromising the aesthetic

The Results

  • A cohesive, premium wardrobe system across all rooms and suites

  • Zero defects at handover

  • On‑programme delivery despite tight timelines

  • Strong feedback from the client and design team

  • A flagship project that reinforces Woodstock’s position in luxury hospitality fit‑out
